The director of the box-office smash franchise, Stephen Sodenbergh, has bad news for all fans of Danny Ocean and his crew. It seems that this will be the last movie in which stars as big as George Clooney, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Al Pacino and Andy Garcia are to play the parts of the charming grand thieves.
During an appearance at this year's Edinburgh Film Festival, Sodenbergh revealed some more facts about the production of 'Ocean's Thirteen', which will be released in June 2008, and said that this is to be the last installment of the movie.
Apparently, the man behind the end of the series is George Clooney himself, who doesn't want the 'Ocean' series to become boring or be taken as a given. He 'wanted to go out strong', Stephen says, and leave a powerful mark on people.
The director also revealed that, while 'Twelve' was a bit more complicated and charged with too many unexpected turn of events, 'Thirteen' will take on a more comic perspective, that is sure to make fans love it even more.
Add to that the fact that Al Pacino is now officially starring in it as the bad guy and we have the perfect recipe for a must-see film. '"Ocean's Thirteen" is a comedy, and this time Al Pacino is a great bad guy. In fact, this guy is a monster!', Sodenbergh concluded by saying.
