The development team at Obsidian working on Project Eternity is offering more information on the Vertical Slice that it’s currently working on.

Developers are looking to create a cross section of the game, which will include a complete set of gameplay features and will allow many of those working on it to move to the creation of shippable content.

Adam Brennecke, an executive producer and lead programmer on Eternity, says that the Vertical Slice is 11 maps big and includes elements of the game that Obsidian has previously shown to the fan base.

He states on the official forums that, “The content from the prototypes are refactored to fit within the context of the world and overall story of the game.”

The game content that Obsidian is currently working on will not be shown to the public, but the team is still looking for feedback on its development updates.

All character classes will be playable up to level five and it seems that at the moment the game features 54 character-specific abilities and 51 spells that can be used during adventuring and combat.

The update also offers information on what the art, design and programming sections at Obsidian are currently working on.

The team is also thanking the fans of Project Eternity for the feedback they have offered on the user interface that was revealed last week and says that changes are already being implemented.

Adam Brennecke says, “We've already mocked up a new version that takes up less vertical space and is more compact overall. Once we feel it's ready to be critiqued, we will post it in a future update for more discussion.”

Project Eternity was funded via Kickstarter and aims to create a classic party-based role-playing experience that will draw in fans of the old Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale series.
