The programme offers both Ubuntu Professional Courses

Obsidian announced that it would provide official training in South Africa, for the "Ubuntu Certified Professional" programme. Through the agreement with Canonical, Obsidian will provide training starting March, this year.

Obsdian will offer both Ubuntu Professional Courses 1 and 2, helping System Administrators to pass the required Linux Professional Institute (LPI) 101 and 102. They will also provide Ubuntu 199 exams to achieve the Ubuntu Certified Professional certification.

Robin Edser, Technology Manager of Obsidian, said: "It is fantastic that Ubuntu has reached the level where relevant certified training has become available for Linux professionals. Obsidian looks forward to providing this in the South African market and contributing to the growth in use of Ubuntu Linux in professional applications."

A growing number of enterprises are using Ubuntu, as a solution for their server and desktop needs. The training offered by Obsidian will ensure that the professionals have all the tools necessary to administer those deployments.
