The Kickstarter page for the new Project Eternity video game from developer Obsidian might only be online for less than one week but the team has already managed to get more than 1.6 million dollars (1.3 million Euro) in support and it has decided to reward the backers by offering some early details on the game structure.

The party -based structure of Project Eternity means that gamers will have to create one character themselves and will be able to recruit another five companions in order to make a team of up to six in order to explore the game world.

Special situations can increase the number even further and Obsidian plans to allow hardcore players to get through the entire game on their own.

The party structure also means that formations, both pre-defined and custom made, will be included in order to allow players to face certain tactical challenges.

The team also states, “At a minimum, players will be able to specify their main character's name, sex, class, race (including subrace), culture, traits, ability scores, portrait, and the fundamental starting options of his or her class (gear, skills, and talents).”

Obsidian is also planning to include complex companions, who are both involved in the plot and able to bring a solid set of skills and abilities to the player party.

The company also offered a quick presentation of the plot, stating, “The player witnesses an extraordinary and horrific supernatural event that thrusts them into a unique and difficult circumstance. Burdened with the consequences of this event, the player has to investigate what has happened in order to free themselves from the restless forces that follow and haunt them wherever they go.”

It seems that the team plans to include standard fantasy races like humans and elves but also “odd” ones and a mix of normal race and Gods.
