Video game developer Obsidian is apparently working on a new secret game project that might be revealed during the Game Developers Conference that will take place in San Francisco in the middle of March.

The information comes from NeoGAF, which spotted a reference to the new title in an article about a new employee.

It states, “This isn't the only game Katrina is working on through Obsidian ... that game is still a secret and will be announced at Game Developers Conference in San Francisco in 2014!”

At the moment, Obsidian is working on South Park: The Stick of Truth, which is set to be launched in early March of this year.

This means that one of the development teams inside the studio will be ready to take on a new long-term project.

Traditionally, the company has worked on three games at the same time, one of them in the early stages of production, another getting ready for launch and one that is not known to the public.

Pillars of Eternity, a game that was funded via Kickstarter, is the other title from Obsidian that the community knows about and the team has been very open about its own development process.

During GDC 2014, the studio might announce another Kickstarter effort, given how successful its first foray into crowdsourcing has already been.

For a long time fans have speculated that Obsidian is currently working on a new Fallout title, which is supposed to be using a new engine and would be out on the PlayStation 4 from Sony, the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PC.

No official info about the game exists, but reports have suggested that it could take place around Boston and that it might involve a new cast of organizations for the player to deal with.

There’s also an outside chance that Obsidian is working on a sequel for Alpha Protocol.
