D&D fans rejoice, as Obsidian, maker of highly-acclaimed Fallout: New Vegas game, has just announced they have just licensed the Pathfinder franchise.

This means Obsidian will be able to develop D&D games based on Paizo’s Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, which derives from the Dungeons & Dragons franchise owned by Wizards of the Coast.

The first product that should result from the long-term agreement between Paizo and Obsidian is a game called Pathfinder Adventure Card, which will be available on tablets.

Both Android and iOS fans will be able to play the game, though it’s unclear whether or not the title will be released on these platforms at the same time.

“At Obsidian we have a long history of working with the greatest RPG franchises, and we're thrilled to get to play in the Pathfinder universe now. We're huge fans and can't wait to bring what we do in the electronic gaming world to Pathfinder fans everywhere.” said CEO Feargus Urquhart.

Even though the folks over at Obsidian are still working on PC title Pillars of Eternity, it looks like they have enough time and resources to bring another RPG, this time to mobile gaming market.

Even though Obsidian showed off an early prototype of the game at Gen Con 2014, it’s unclear exactly when Pathfinder Adventure Card Game will hit stores.
