14 DAY TRIAL // Not very long ago, Obie, the obese dachshund, caused quite a media stir after he had to be parted with his owners and made to go on a weight loss program which was intended to get him back in shape.
Recent news on this topic informs us that, only yesterday, a judge working with the Washington County Circuit Court decided that it would be best for Obie to remain in the care of his foster mom, Nora Vanatta, at least for the time being.
Apparently, the main drive behind the judge’s taking this decision is the fact that Obie's owners are both elderly and suffering from various medical conditions which keep them for properly looking after their pet.
On the other hand, there are some who claim that foster mom Nora Vanatta is using Obie's popularity to get some media attention for herself.
Still, the fact remains that, during these two months he spent with Nora, Obie succeeded in losing as many as 15 pounds (6.8 kilograms).
