14 DAY TRIAL // It's been a while since we've last heard news about Obie, the obese Dachshund. Well, it so happens that this pooch should from now on be referred to as Obie, the stunningly slim Dachshund.
Long story short, Obie has thus far dropped a whopping 40 pounds (about 18.2 kilograms).
Because of his losing this much weight, he also had to undergo surgery and have about 2.5 pounds (about 1.13 kilograms) of excess skin removed from his tummy.
“That skin was dragging between the front legs and he kept stepping on it. He’s just been trapped in his obese body, and now he can act like a dog again,” owner Nora Vanatta said.
Obie refused to make any comments on the surgery, and settled for wiggling its tail.
Sources say that it took Obie a total of 8 months to lose this much weight.
