This June 25, President Barack Obama is scheduled to give a speech and detail on his plans to tackle climate change and global warming.

In anticipation of this address on climate change, the White House has released several documents that shed new light on what it is that the President means to do in order to deal with said phenomena. Business Green informs us that, first off, Barack Obama would like to see the United States cut down on the amounts of carbon emissions it produces.

This will most likely be achieved by implementing tougher power plant emission rules.

Secondly, he is confident that, in the months to come, investments in climate resilience measures will up.

More precisely, the President wants the country to invest in technologies that will allow it to efficiently harvest green energy sources.

He also hoped that the United States will be joined by other countries in its fight against said phenomena, and that noteworthy results will be obtained once these two issues are properly addressed on a global scale.

“While no single step can reverse the effects of climate change, we have a moral obligation to future generations to leave them a planet that is not polluted and damaged.”

“Through steady, responsible action to cut carbon pollution, we can protect our children's health and begin to slow the effects of climate change so that we leave behind a cleaner, more stable environment,” the action plan released by the White House reportedly reads.

Barack Obama will deliver his speech this afternoon, so stay tuned for more information.
