14 DAY TRIAL // President Barack Obama was delivering a speech on the much debated Obamacare plan in the Rose Garden hours ago, when a woman standing right behind him nearly fainted and fell. The entire incident has been captured on camera, and you can see it above.
The woman’s name is Karmel Allison and, as per a White House statement released afterwards, she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when she was still a child. She is also pregnant.
As you can see for yourself, the President realized she was unsteady on her feet and, with the help of another woman and a guard behind Karmel, he held onto her until help came and she was escorted off the podium.
“This happens when I talk too long. Good catch, by the way,” Obama joked in this typical manner.
Karmel went on Twitter after video of her mishap got out and went viral, thanking Obama for his assistance and campaigning for his healthcare plan.
“I'm ok world- just got a little lightheaded.Thanks, @BarackObama for catching me! And good thing this pregnant diabetic is pregnant :),” she also wrote.
