Antoinette Tuff, the woman dubbed the “Georgia Hero” for her intervention in the school shooting in Decatur has received a thank you call from president Obama himself.

As I told you, Tuff talked 20-year-old gunman Michael Brandon Hill into surrendering and giving up his intentions of shooting students at Ronald E. McNair Discovery Learning Academy.

She was instrumental in having the shooter put down his weapon and she was able to talk him into it by telling him about her story. She lost her husband of 33 years and she was able to convey her own woes.

Tuff discussed getting a call from the president with CNN’s Anderson Cooper. According to the Inquisitr, Obama told her about her actions making him and his family proud.

“I was like, ‘President Obama, it’s really you!’ It was the best voice that I could ever hear,” she recalls.
