Apple is taking its time with releasing new beta versions of OS X Yosemite and associated software. The latest update for Yosemite Public Beta came four days after the developer beta was released.

In order to download this beta, you should have signed up for the OS X Yosemite Beta program a month and a half ago. Apple has left the gates open for the first million home users who wanted to beta-test the next-generation operating system.

If you did that, all you have to do is open the Mac App Store, go to the Updates tab, and in a matter of seconds, you are going to see the update show up.

Apple has also released a new version of iTunes 12 beta, with a slightly changed interface. With this beta version, you will see how buttons are turning light blue when they are pressed. There are also new icons for Music, Movies, TV Shows and other media sections. Apple has improved the way you look for tracks and bands with the new Recently Added view for All Albums.

In order to manage your photos, you still need iPhoto and Aperture. When OS X Yosemite comes out, Apple will tell everyone more about the Photos app.

The latest OS X Yosemite beta brings new icons for System Preferences, the ability to receive text messages on your Mac and some improvements for iCloud sharing.
