Apple rolls out several Boot Camp Support Software packages

Apple has released OS X 10.8.3, which includes a truckload of fixes and enhancements, including some optimizations for installing Microsoft’s Windows 8 on a Mac. Those who wish to install Windows 7 on a Mac also got some goodies.

OS X 10.8.3 is chock-full of fixes and optimizations, and also includes a new Boot Camp update which adds “support for installing Windows 8,” according to the release notes.

Another Boot Camp enhancement noted by Apple, the dual-boot software now supports Macs with a 3 TB hard drive.

Apple also released a number of packages called Boot Camp Support Software. Available in different versions for different Macintosh configurations, the downloads contain the Windows drivers customers need to support Windows 7 on their Mac.

On its Support site, Apple has posted a list of frequently asked questions about installing Windows 8 on a Mac via Boot Camp.
