A new version of OS X Server is available for download from the Mac App Store, featuring various code corrections and a new system requirement that calls for Mavericks 10.9.1.

OS X Server 3.0.2 is the latest server release from Apple targeting Mavericks users. In this update, the company fixes LT2P VPN issues through the installation of a separate VPN Update for OS X Server.

A number of login and migration issues are patched. An issue involving Xcode services with Git repositories is also addressed. Users who update to 3.0.2 will notice improvements when sending push notifications to MDM devices, Apple says.

The new OS X Server requires OS X Mavericks version 10.9.1, a stability and security update released by Apple late last year. The Cupertino giant is already working on the next version of Mavericks (OS X 10.9.2).

According to the company, OS X Server is “designed for OS X and iOS devices [and] makes it easy to share files, schedule meetings, synchronize contacts, develop software, host your own website, publish wikis, configure Mac, iPhone and iPad devices, remotely access your network, and more.”

Unlike Server Lion and Server Snow Leopard, Server Mavericks is a standalone app which you can simply add to your Mavericks installation for a $19.99 / €17.99 fee. Users can download OS X Server from the Mac App Store in minutes.

“Anyone can quickly and easily turn a Mac running Mavericks into a server that’s perfect for home offices, businesses, schools, developers, and hobbyists alike,” Apple adds.

Apple’s solution includes all the apps and services needed by any organization, big or small, including file sharing, Profile Manager, caching server, Xcode Server, Time Machine, Calendar Server, Contacts Server, Wiki Server, Mail Server, Virtual Private Network, and more.

Some features require program enrollment with Apple, which means other fees may be involved.
