Apple has seeded the second Mavericks 10.9.1 beta to developers, asking them to focus on finding bugs in key areas of the operating system. The new build arrives with no known issues.

According the seed notes seen by an anonymous developer, Apple says OS X Mavericks Update 10.9.1 is an update to OS X Mavericks 10.9 which can be downloaded and installed using the OS X Software Update Seed Configuration Utility.

Users of an older beta can simply use software update to install the new build.

There are no known issues in this build, and focus areas include Safari, Mail, Graphics Drivers, VoiceOver. As usual, bug reporting is highly encouraged.

Apple reportedly tells developers, “This build is being provided to you for testing and development purposes. Should you encounter any problems, please submit a bug report using the online Bug Reporter at bugreporter.apple.com. Please make sure to include ‘10.9.1 (13B35)’ in the bug title and description.”

For those who are downloading an OS X beta for the first time, the first step is to log into your Apple Developer account and download OS X Software Update Seed Configuration Utility.

The Mac App Store will open automatically after running the installer, at which point you must click on the Updates panel and the latest version of OS X Mavericks 10.9.1 will appear.

Whenever a new build is available, you will receive an interactive notification which can be used as the gateway to the new download.

Developers who wish to stop receiving new builds can go to Software Update Preference in System Preferences and hit “Change” in front of “Your computer is set to receive pre- release Software Update seeds.”

OS X 10.9.1 has only recently entered development and should remain there for a few more builds to come. The final version will go public when Apple feels it has ironed out all the major bugs.
