As a nice surprise to all OS X users, Apple released a few hours ago the sixth Beta of the upcoming OS X 10.10.4 Yosemite operating system, which is also the fifth Beta for regular users.

Tagged as build 14E36b, OS X 10.10.4 Yosemite Beta 6 (Public Beta 5) does not come with release notes, except for the usual line of text where Apple informs users that the respective software update will improve the security, compatibility, and stability of your Mac computer(s).

The software update is now live in the App Store and anyone can install it (please see the short "How to" we've prepared below). The final release of the OS X 10.10.4 Yosemite operating system should arrive sometime in July 2015.

Here's how to install the new OS X 10.10.4 Yosemite Public Beta

We have prepared below some instructions for those of you who plan on switching to the Beta channel of OS X 10.10 Yosemite and want to give the new Beta a try today, but first you should know that you will need to sign up for Apple's OS X Beta Program and that you won't be able to return to a previous version of OS X.

After signing up on the OS X Beta Program website, login with the same account in the App Store application. Then, click on the Updates tab, wait a few seconds for the list of updates to be refreshed, and you should see the "OS X Yosemite 10.10.4 Public Beta 10.10.4 (14E36b)" update.

Click on the "Update" button in front of it, accept the license agreement, which will be displayed in a separate dialog, and then click on the "Download & Restart" button that will appear from the top of the window. Wait for the software update to download and then reboot your Mac computer to complete the update process.
