Research In Motion has started to deploy the BlackBerry OS 7.1 for most of the smartphones launched on the market last year. So far several Canadian carriers have delivered the update to some BlackBerry models.

TELUS, SaskTel, Virgin Mobile and Bell have already updated some of the BlackBerry smartphones in their portfolios.

WIND Mobile customers who own the BlackBerry Bold 9900 will be happy to know that RIM has just uploaded the OS 7.1 update onto their servers for them to download. The update is about 260 MB in size and it brings various new features and bug fixes.

Among the most important changes added by BlackBerry OS 7.1, one can notice Wi-Fi Calling, Mobile Hotspot, Bing search, BlackBerry Device Analyzer and more.
