In the past, movie producers had to rely on full size helicopters with industrial grade cameras to capture the high-quality aerial shots that everybody loves to see in movies, but now the OM-Copter drone can do the same while being much easier to operate.

Film directors have tried to do this previously with remote controlled mini-helicopters, but these weren't stable enough for providing the high quality needed.

And this is where the OM-Copter and its eight separate rotors comes in, as this contraption provides directors with the smooth and steady images they desire.

Apparently, the OM-Copter is so successful at what it does that even Peter Jackson used it for the upcoming Hobbit movie together with a $58,000 Red Epic camera.

Much like the remote controlled droid used for his shots, the Red Epic is also one of the stars of its field as the camera can capture video at an impressive 5K resolution with 30fps in RAW quality.

Take a look at the OM-Copter in the video enclosed above, but make sure to hold on tight as this is one gadget that can truly blow you away.
