OCZ Technology has announced the introduction of a new addition to the existing Silencer line of power source units distributed via its PC Power & Cooling boutique PC division. The update includes a 500W EPS12V power supply unit as well as the dell compatible counterpart. The new offerings come to complete the 370W, 420W units, as the high-end PC energy demands are going up.

The Silencer series of power source units are targeted at both mainstream and high-end enthusiasts, and come with an optimal price and performance ratio. PC Power & Cooling's series of Silencer power supply units come with a single +12V rail, that optimally distributes the power throughput across all the system's components.

The Silencer units are certified under the 80+ efficiency program, which means that the vast majority of the absorbed electricity is converted then used effectively, and not getting lost as residual heat. The system will become not only electrically stable, but it will also require less cooling gear and, implicitly, less noise.

"I am pleased that PC Power & Cooling is able to offer exceptional Silencer series performance and reliability at such an affordable price point, " stated Doug Dodson, founder of PC Power & Cooling and CTO of Power Management for the OCZ Technology Group. "The Silencer line now offers every type of computer user an option for the premium power management of their system."

All the power supply units in the Silencer series can deliver sufficient power to fuel mainstream gaming, home theater, and workstation computers. However, the 500W offering comes in a special Dell edition, that lets the company customers to easily upgrade their video cards to the latest dual-GPU models.

Since they have an increased power conversion efficiency, the Silencer units come with a specially designed ventilation fan, that keeps the noise level low even when the system is running at full workload. The series is mostly targeted at home theater PCs, multimedia systems as well as at the computers located in environments where low noise is a critical aspect.
