Although lately OCZ has been a lot more active in the SSD market, RAM memory still represents a large portion of their business, the company just announcing new DDR3 memory kits that target enthusiast users and overclockers alike, the new Xtreme Thermal Exchange (XTE) and Blade 2 high-speed desktop memory.

Designed in order to deliver the ultimate performance, these new memory kits “balance DDR3 performance and cooling efficiency in one solution,” as OCZ likes to put it.

What this basically means is that both memory series can support the high operating frequencies requested by overclockers while also featuring specially designed heat spreaders, the Blade 2 series coming with a new finned anodized aluminum heatsink design that enables OCZ to run these memories at 2400MHz and 2133MHz.

An aluminum heat spreader design is also used on the Platinum XTE and Gold XTE series, this time a low-profile one, although these kits are clocked a bit lower, as they run at 2133MHz, 2000MHz, and 1600MHz frequencies.

These kits are available both in dual-channel and triple-channel configurations, and are compatible with a wide range of processors including all AMD AM3 and Intel Core i3, i5, and i7 models.

"Building on our previous lines of enthusiast overclocking memory, the new XTE and Blade 2 DDR3 memory series are designed to set the benchmark once again and deliver the ultimate in performance and stability," said Alex Mei, CMO of OCZ Technology Group.

"Featuring new compact, yet highly efficient heatspreader designs, these hand-tested kits are the ideal solution for overclockers gaming and productivity applications, and are optimized for the latest generation of platforms from Intel and AMD."

As far as pricing goes this varies depending on capacity and frequency, but all the modules are hand-tested for quality assurance and come with OCZ's lifetime warranty.
