DDR2 memories for gaming addicts

OCZ Technology Group announced that it will release a new memory kit based on the DDR2 technology with a capacity of 4GB. The kits will be named "PC2-6400 Platinum" and "PC2-6400 Gold" and are targeted at users who need high speeds and capacities for gaming or Vista-running desktop PCs. The Gold and Platinum kits come as a unique 4 x 1024MB solution.

A part of the OCZ's Platimum series, the PC2-6400 $GB Quad Kits, are engineered to satisfy the demands of overclockers and hard gamers. Running at 800MHz, the Platinum Edition has low timings (4-5-4) and offers more bandwidth and stability. The PC2-6400 Gold Edition are ideal for gamers that are more budget-minded, while providing balanced performance at a decent price. These kits are really useful for users that have 64-bit operating systems, as 32-bit systems will be unable to fully address the entire amount of memory (they would lose between 512MB and 1.25GB to PCI addressing).

Just like all OCZ's memory products, these too come with a Lifetime Warranty and technical support. Both types of kits are hand-tested before shipping for quality assurance and come equipped with gold or platinum-mirrored XTC (Xtreme Thermal Convection) heatspreaders for the most effective heat dissipation available on RAM modules.

"Filling up the system memory to the fullest limitation of any 32-bit operating system enables the most efficient way of computing by granting the processor and graphics units almost unlimited access to vital data," commented Dr. Michael Schuette, VP of Technology Development at OCZ Technology Group. "By distributing the physical memory space over four discrete modules, the new OCZ Platinum and Gold Quad kits add optimal power and thermal distribution to provide high capacities in a superbly stable overclocking configuration, to unleash the ultimate performance of 4GB of RAM."
