OCZ, one of the leading manufacturers of flash memories, is working on a new product that will provide users with a strong portable storage solution. And, when I say strong, I mean "Fortress" strong, as the company intends to built its product with a number of special features in mind. Even
more, from what we can see from a couple of pictures of the yet-unreleased product, OCZ is also trying to make its product look good.

OCZ's offer will provide users with an alternative solution to Corsair's Survivor, which has also been designed to offer a high level of durability. Unfortunately, for the time being, details about the product are scarce but from what we can make out from the unofficial pictures, the "Fortress" should be built with a durable material like aluminum or even steel. The few details we can rely on as of now have surfaced at this year's Computex show in Taipei, where the manufacturer also launched a new line of memory products, designed to provide support to gaming enthusiasts.

One of the special features of the "Fortress" is the fact that it is going to integrate a built-in small display, which should provide the user with information about free storage. As with any other prototype, or product that is yet to be released, OCZ's "Fortress" comes with no info about the price tag, but we should expect more extensive details sometime in the near future.

Products like Corsair's Survivor or OCZ's soon-to-be released "Fortress" are designed to bring a well built portable storage solution. They can offer the necessary storage capacity in a small form factor, while ultimately providing a better and more secure product. Although some users have went as far as testing Corsair's Survivor by running it over with a tank, these products aren't meant for military use, but that does not change the fact that they should offer the necessary protection for the consumer market.
