OCZ deals in multiple types of products, from storage solutions to power supplies, and it seems that the latter market segment has now seen the arrival of another newcomer, a new power supply for the Silencer series to be exact.

PC Power & Cooling team within the OCZ technology Group is always hard at work, bringing new inventions out on a regular basis.

The newest one is a power supply unit with a power output that places it in the upper half of the consumer market.

Basically, it is a new addition to the Silencer series and has a wattage of 760W, most likely so that it may handle multi-GPU setups.

Both AMD and NVIDIA are releasing more advanced video cards, so makers of other hardware are, naturally keen on delivering accompanying products, so to speak.

The new PSU has an efficiency of 88%, so it was granted the 80Plus Silver rating as far as the 'green' factor goes.

One 12V rail is present, along with an 80mm ball bearing fan whose sound output is of up to 36 dB(A). Finally, the product has a MTBF of 100,000 hours.

"The PC Power and Cooling Silencer power supplies have long been regarded as a top-quality solution by system builders and clients who require the very best performance and dependability," said Charlie McMenomey, Product Manager at OCZ Technology Group.

"Building on the proven core architecture of the original series, the new Silencer 760W further raises the bar with an 80 PLUS Silver efficiency, exceptional reliability and the power output to meet the demands of power users," he added.

OCZ gave the power supply a warranty of no less than 7 years but did not provide any sort of pricing details.

“The Silencer is backed by an industry-leading 7-Year warranty commitment and the expert knowledge of PC Power & Cooling technical support and engineering,” said the company's announcement.
