OCZ Launches Active Memory Coolers

OCZ Technology recently announced that they have produced an active memory cooling device which uses XTC (eXtreme Thermal Convection) in order to cool the
memory modules. Interesting gadget but usable only to those who overclock their memories. Overvolting is the best way to do that but it also produces a lot of heat coming from the chips. And all that heat needs to be kept under control.

"To address the requirements of extreme overclockers OCZ is releasing the new XTC cooler which is designed to pair up with the Xtreme Thermal Convection heat-spreaders utilized on our entire lineup of premium memory solutions," said Alex Mei, vice president of marketing at OCZ Technology Group.

The memory cooler from OCZ comes equipped with 2 60mm fans that blow the air on the XTC heatspreaders of your OCZ sticks (provided you use OCZ XTC memory sticks). The aluminum body can be attached to the motherboard's DIMM retention levers in order to function properly.

"This cooler forces airflow through our open Xtreme Thermal Convection heatspreader design to offload even more heat from the entire module array, thus enhancing both stability and performance of the memory, especially when aggressively overclocking," explained Mr. Alex Mei.

Pricing and availability of the product are unknown.
