OCZ Technology, one of the world's leading manufacturers of computer memory, Flash-based storage and other computer peripherals, has recently announced the expansion of its peripherals under the Alchemy line, with the introduction of the company's new Illuminati multimedia keyboard. The new product comes designed for advanced computing and features a stylish backlit effect and a number of user-friendly options that have been combined in an ergonomic and sturdy design, according to the company.

“Building on our Alchemy line of peripherals OCZ is now introducing the Illuminati backlit keyboard,” commented Ryan Edwards, director of Product Management at the OCZ Technology Group. “The Illuminati Keyboard offers multimedia consumers a host of features including rubber coated keys for comfort while both working and gaming, fourteen quick launch keys to better access to multimedia, and the choice of two backlit colors making it easier to make full use of the keyboard in low light environments.”

The new Alchemy keyboard, suggestively dubbed Illuminati, has been featured with 14 multimedia and internet hotkeys, enabling users to easily manage their music, web and video applications through an easy touch of a button. Additionally, the Illuminati keyboard boasts keys that can be backlit with either red or blue LEDs, consequently allowing users to work under dark room conditions. The same feature will also likely benefit gaming enthusiasts who spend a lot of time at LAN parties or on PC gaming. Thanks to the use of rubber coated keys, the Illuminati keyboard should come as an excellent alternative for both gaming enthusiasts and day-to-day PC users.

As expected, the new keyboard is designed with keys that are said to resist over 5 million cycles, demonstrating the build quality of the new OCZ Alchemy keyboard. Users will be provided with driver support for both Windows XP and Windows Vista operating systems. Unfortunately, the company is yet to reveal the pricing and availability of its new keyboard.
