OCZ Technology has recently issued an official statement regarding SandForce's acquisition by the LSI Corporation in which it congratulated the former for finding a new partner and confirms that the move won't have any impact on its existing product lines or business.

"On behalf of OCZ, I would like to congratulate SandForce on its combination with LSI, a current partner of OCZ's," said Ryan Petersen, CEO of OCZ Technology Group.

"SandForce has been a great partner, and we expect the added resources of LSI will only benefit SandForce's customers.

“Moreover, because OCZ and SandForce previously contemplated this scenario, we expect that this combination will have no material impact to our existing product lines or business," concluded Mr. Petersen.

When SandForce started searching for a buyer a little more than a year ago, many voices in the industry have seen OCZ as more than a likely buyer, as the the two companies had a successful partnership ever since SandForce introduced its first SSD controllers.

The other day however, the solid state drive processor maker sent out an announcement that it has reached an agreement with LSI to be purchased for $322 million in cash.

The news took many by surprise, but made a lot of sense for SandForce which needed a partner that could be able to provide it with a strong validation methodology and the resources to help it test its SSD controllers.

LSI had all those things as the company has a strong expertise in developing ASICs, host bus adapters, and RAID adapters for the enterprise market.

LSI is already selling a series of PCI Express SSDs powered by SandForce controllers that are known under the WarpDrive name. Under the new partnership SandForce is expected to expand its presence in the enterprise market.
