OCZ just finished developing their latest Memory Modules; this time, they included them in the prestigious Titanium line, which generally stands for extreme performance
and also high overclocking capabilities.
What's new about these modules is their ability to run 1T command rate if the motherboard you're using can set this parameter at 1T. This ensures high performance, although CAS latency remains at 4T. The modules include a memory compatibility mode called "Enhanced Performance Profiles" used when working on an Nforce 590 series based motherboard. Aside from that, the sticks use OCZ's own cooling technology, "Xtreme Thermal Convection" (XTC) in order to keep the heat sinks cool.
OCZ Technology's, VP of Technology Development, Dr. Michael Schuette stated:
For the extreme enthusiast, we specifically created the new OCZ PC2-6400 Titanium modules with built-in selectable (EPP) Enhanced Performance Profiles with reduced latencies for ultra fast memory accesses at 800 MHz data rate. Moreover, on the qualified platform and boards, the PC2-6400 Titanium modules are capable of accepting one command per clock cycle, also known as 1T Command Rate, which solves bus contention issues and increases memory performance by a substantial amount.PC2-6400 series will be available in 1GB sticks form and also as a 2GB kit. Pricing is unavailable at the moment.
