Apple's iPhone 5 is nearing availability, and more and more rumors regarding its launch date started to emerge, including some that pinpoint its release to late October in the UK.
The smartphone has just made an appearance on Vodafone's website
, where it was listed as one of the devices that Vodafone Sure Signal supports, and now it is said to be on its way to O2 as well, starting with the next month.
Rumors on the possible arrival of iPhone 5 on shelves starting with October have been floating around for a while now, but this is the first time a mode solid release time frame is suggested.
Apparently, wireless carrier O2 is gearing up for the release of this device on October 21st, at least this is what sources familiar with the matter let slip, knowyourmobile
O2 was the first wireless carrier in the UK to bring the Apple iconic device to its shelves, and will also be among the first to have the fifth-generation iPhone available for its customers, that's for sure.
Other operators in the country are also expected to add the new device
to their offerings, and might release it at the same time as O2.
For the time being, however, O2 is the only network in the country to have been confirmed to be releasing the handset on October 21st (one of their representatives let the info slip, it seems).
What remains unknown at the moment is the specs list for the new device. Various rumors around suggested that Apple would plan on either making only small changes from the previous model, or on packing the new device with boosted hardware, but nothing has been confirmed until now.
The one thing that is certain, however, is the fact that the iPhone 5 is shaping up as one of the most expected smartphone models from Apple, and that it will enjoy expanded availability at wireless carriers
around the world when compared to earlier models.
