While unlocked Galaxy S devices in the UK might have already got their share of Android 2.2 Froyo update, carrier-branded units are late to the party. However it appears that they too would soon taste the new OS flavor, and that O2 is the first carrier to make that happen.

Starting with November 15th, next Monday, to be more precise, the wireless carrier will start delivering the Android 2.2 Froyo update to all of the Samsung Galaxy S units on its airwaves.

At the same time, the operator is expected to make available for download another OS upgrade many have been eagerly waiting for a long time now, Android 2.1 for Xperia X10.

According to a recent post on Android Central, all of the X10 handsets on O2, airwaves, including Xperia X10, Xperia X10 mini, and Xperia X10 mini pro should receive the software solution starting with November 15th.

The screenshot attached to this article, supposedly showing the carrier's plans in the area, also unveil that the Palm handsets at O2 should taste the new webOS 2.0 platform starting with December 6th.

Until more official info on the matter is released, we should note that Android 2.2 should bring a nice range of enhancements on Galaxy S devices.

Among them, we can count impressively increased performance levels when compared to the Android 2.1 platform, as well as support for Adobe's Flash Player 10.1 solution.

Other wireless carriers in the country should also start delivering the OS update to their Galaxy S users, as the entire update process is expected to be completed by the end of November in the UK.

As for the Android 2.1 update set to arrive on Xperia X10 on Monday, it should provide users with some new features too, while also improving the capabilities that Sony Ericsson's Android device sports.

Hopefully, the two software solutions would indeed start rolling out on Monday. Stay tuned for more info on this.
