Sony has recently confirmed it has kicked off the rollout of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for 2012 Xperia smartphones.

The Japanese has company stated that the deployment will continue over the next month, so some countries might start receiving Jelly Bean on their devices in March.

That’s not the case for Sony Xperia T owners in the UK who purchased their smartphones from O2 UK. The carrier has just announced the update is now available for download starting today.

O2 customers eligible for this upgrade will receive a notification on their Xperia T devices or they can check for it manually by going to Menu / Settings / About / Software Updates / Check now.

Aside from Google Now and Android Beam, the update will also bring some Xperia software, including updated versions of WALKMAN, Album and Movies.
