Wireless carrier O2 has made available for download a new application for its Android users, providing them with the benefits of VoIP (Voice over IP), namely TU Go.

The new app is meant to enable users to make calls when connected to a Wi-Fi network, the same as Skype does.

“With TU Go, your O2 mobile number works on more than just your phone. Download the app onto any supported device and log in with your existing mobile number to call anyone, with all calls and texts coming out of your Pay Monthly bundle,” the company notes.

O2 customers can use their existing numbers to call or text others via this app, and log in on up to five devices at the same time, and can also select to use the app over mobile or Wi-Fi networks.

The application is listed in the Google Play store for all smartphones and tablet PCs running Android 2.3.1 Gingerbread and up.
