Today, UK wireless carrier O2 UK officially confirmed plans to make the second-generation Nexus 7 tablet PC available for purchase on its network.

The operator has unveiled that both the Wi-Fi-only and the 4G LTE-enabled flavors of the device will be added to its offering, with the latter set to land on shelves on September 12.

The 32GB Wi-Fi only Nexus 7 will become available soon at the carrier, with a price tag of £249.99, while the 4G variant will be priced at £319.99.

Furthermore, the wireless carrier announced that all those interested in the purchase of the device will be able to pre-order it starting with tomorrow. Customers who pre-order the device will also receive a free premium case worth £29.99.

While the Wi-Fi model is already up for grabs in the UK through the Google Play Store, the 4G LTE variant will be available at launch exclusively through O2, the carrier confirmed.

“The new Nexus 7 is a fantastic way to experience Android, whether you’re using it for the first time or have used it before,” said David Johnson, general manager Devices for O2 in the UK.

“The brilliant screen and fast 4G connectivity will make surfing, gaming and using Google services on the Nexus 7 an absolute joy.”

The wireless carrier has already published a landing page for the new Nexus 7, and users interested in learning more on it can head over there for that.

Made official in July, the new device comes with a 7-inch screen, a quad-core processor inside, 2GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, front camera for video calling, and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean loaded on top.

“The Google Nexus 7, now thinner, lighter, and faster than ever before, brings you the perfect mix of power and portability and features the world’s sharpest 7″ tablet screen – putting over 2.3 million pixels in the palm of your hand,” O2 UK notes.

“With a clean, simple design that features a slim body, a thin bezel and a soft-touch, matte back, the Nexus 7 sits comfortably in the palm of your hand while the bright, beautiful 7″ display, quad-core processor and Android Jelly Bean 4.3 operating system bring your entertainment to life.”
