O2, the largest mobile operator in the UK, came up with a rather unusual "contest" that will offer 1,500 music fans the occasion to participate at a forthcoming Moby concert held at The O2 arena, in London, on the 9th of May.

To enter the competition, you have to "start a guest list" on the O2 Blueroom website (found at this address) and ask as many friends as you can to join that list by sending a photo with them via MMS. The final term for list entries is the 29th of April, 5 PM. At this date and hour, the list with the most music fans on it wins, and all those who are on it (in the 1,500 limit) will be able to go to Moby's concert for free. Moreover, the initiator of the winning list, together with other 100 people, will have the chance to meet Moby during a VIP lounge party held after the concert. What's cool is that even if you're not an O2 customer you can still go to the concert, if one of your O2 friends wins the competition.

Besides Moby, the O2 concert will also feature performances from Mylo and Anders Trentemoller, which can only raise the interest of music lovers towards the event.

With this May concert, Moby will promote his latest album, entitled "Last Night" (disappointingly unoriginal naming, but in the end the music counts and not the album title). "Last Night" was launched in the UK on the 31th of March, so it's a really fresh material, but Moby will surely also play many songs from his older albums.

In conclusion, if you're in the UK and want to hear (and "see") live new songs from Moby, like "Alice" and "Disco lies", or older hits like "Feeling so real", "Natural blues", "Porcelain" and "In this world", don't hesitate to enter into the O2 competition.
