For customers living in UK, who are not disappointed by Sony Ericsson yet, O2 is making a special offer that includes the handset manufacturer's Android-based smartphone Xperia X8, as well as Samsung Pixon. Both devices are given for free on a two-year £10 per month contract.

The £10 per month contract offers O2 customers 50 calling minutes per month, as well as unlimited text messages. Even though the number of free calling minutes seems low, at least users can get the any of the devices for free.

The Xperia X8 is the only Android-based smartphone that has been left out from receiving the Android 2.1 software upgrade, which was already rolled out for Xperia X10, X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 is still running on the old Android 1.6 (Donut) platform and is powered by a Qualcomm MSM7227 600 MHz processor.

The smartphone features a 3.0-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 320x480 pixels resolution. Sony Ericsson's proprietary Timescape UI is running over the Android platform.

Other key features of the device include: HSDPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g connectivity, 128 MB internal memory, 168 MB RAM, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 16GB, 2GB included), Stereo FM radio with RDS, GPS with A-GPS support and Digital compass.

It packs a 3-megapixel (2048x1536 pixels) camera with geo-tagging and video recording capabilities (VGA@30fps).

Samsung Pixon is one of the first handsets launched with an 8-megapixel camera. The feature-phone comes with a 3.2-inch TFT resistive touchscreen with 262K colors support and 240x400 pixels resolution.

Other key features of the camera-phone include: HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, 200 MB internal memory, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 16GB), DNSe (Digital Natural Sound Engine), Qualcomm MSM6281 500Mhz processor, Stereo FM radio with RDS, SRS (Surround Sound System) Virtual 5.1CH and built-in GPS receiver.
