Paula Deen is still bleeding money from lost endorsement deals after the racist comments she made to an employee but, if it’s any consolation, she still has people rooting for her. One of them is the controversial O.J. Simpson, now serving time behind bars.

His manager Norman Pardo tells the National Enquirer that he was deeply hurt to hear of the backlash against Deen after she testified in court and admitted to using the N-word.

Pardo explained that the two met in 2002 when Deen wasn’t even the culinary goddess she is today, at her restaurant in Savannah, Georgia, where she was extremely nice to him.

She served him and his friends even though the place was closed, and told him that she believed him when he said he was innocent of the murder of his wife and her friend.

“O.J. was deeply touched by Paula's friendliness. That's why he's so disturbed about what's happening to her now,” Pardo says.

“Everybody should have a second chance. I'd like one myself,” Simpson reportedly told Pardo.

His might be a warm, fuzzy sentiment but, at the end of the day, it doesn’t help Paula at all.
