Japanese responsibility

Last week, Softpedia reported that use of Nyko Xbox 360 intercoolers can be hazardous to your console. Gwn.com ran a similar story, but they also featured some statements of Microsoft representatives, on how much harm a Nyko intercooler can cause to your Xbox.

Some said that it drains too much power from the machine and that it can lead to a complete shutdown of your gaming system, while others say that they have seen the intercooler causing "scorch marks" on Xbox consoles. Either way, the intercooler was bad for your console.

After reading both intercooler-related stories, Nyko decided to respond and sent a statement to Gwn.com stating that they will replace any Xbox 360 damaged by their intercoolers. This is what a company that is serious and dedicated to its consumers has to do. They also explain that the defect rate for the Intercooler 360 is under 1%, much lower than the defect rate for other electronic products.

The Japanese company also announced that they have shipped over 500,000 Intercooler 360s by now, and that if any of these 500,000 units caused damage to your Xbox 360, they are willing to replace the intercooler and console after a first hand check.
