The upcoming mid-range board from Nvidia was initially slated for launch on February 14th, but a recent power issue forced the manufacturer to push back its release date to February the 21st.

In other words, the board is affected by multiple voltage offset issues that occur "during certain applications". I think any similitude between a video card and the Phenom processor (crippled by the TLB errata) would be far-fetched, but I cannot help it. The company needs some more time to fix the issues with the power circuitry, and there's likely that the card will pay another visit to the drawing board.

The delay would have been significantly shorter, had not interfered with the Chinese New Year holiday, as this is the part of year when manufacturing units temporarily shut down and workers take a week's break.

"NVIDIA's engineering team has identified the necessary modifications and they are in the process of verification. I will communicate the exact modifications to you as soon as they have been verified and we will communicate the new shipping schedule in the next few days.

Since we are now running into the Chinese New Year holiday NVIDIA have decided to move the launch date out a week in order to ensure that our partners have enough time to get product on shelves at the time of launch," said Nvidia representatives in a press release.

However, Nvidia today officially announced its business partners about the delay. The note also contained a few explanations regarding the issues that render the card useless. What should bother users most is not the delay - it seems to happen all the tame, both on the ATI and Nvidia camps, but the way the event is announced. And, on top of that, if customers are verbally bullied, this is the special treatment Nvidia also gives to its business partners.
