The company’s GTX 650 and GTX 660 mid-range cards will cover the $100 to $200 price range

Nvidia’s GTX 650 video cards are using the same well known Kepler GPU architecture, but unlike the GTX 660, GTX 670, GTX 680 and GTX 690 that use the a fully-fledged GK104 GPU, the GTX uses a smaller GPU called GK107.

Our readers should already know about the GK107, as this is the same GPU used on the GTS 640 low-range video cards.

The GK107 has the same Kepler architecture, just like we said, but it features only 384 CUDA cores running at a frequency around 1GHz.

This is a rather slow GPU, but the good news is that Nvidia is pairing it with new GDDR5 video memory that runs at a high 5 GHz, much faster than the DDR3 memory used on the GTS 640.

Guys at vga.it68.com have managed to get a picture of the reference design and it shows that this is a small video card with a modest cooling system, but is still requires and extra power line to be connected to its 6-pin connector in the upper right corner.
