Ten years ago, fabless GPU designer Nvidia was showing off their revolutionary, but ultimately disappointing GeForce FX GPU line using an impressive technology demo called “Dawn.” Now, the company is demonstrating the capabilities of the new Kepler architecture using an impressive new demo called “A New Dawn.”

Back in 2002, rumor was that Nvidia’s GeForce FX 5800 line was the first time the company was integrating 3dfx technology.

Gamers were disappointed with the performance and power consumption at that time, but the professional Quadro versions were displaying absolutely impressive performance.

It seemed like the FX 5000 line from Nvidia was made for professional applications and not for gaming.

Today, Nvidia’s Kepler is the company’s second-generation GPU to be built with GPU compute in mind, but the company is now showing that gamers have impressive visual features to enjoy also.

“A New Dawn” is a DirectX 11 technology demo and it features amazing 3D processing techniques and visuals.
