Nvidia has announced the immediate availability for download of the 310.40 version of its graphics driver for Linux operating systems.

Nvidia is making great efforts for the Linux platform and is constantly improving the quality of its drivers, mostly by fixing problems spotted by the community.

This latest version has been launched in order to provide a single bug fix: NVIDIA UNIX GPU Driver ARGB Cursor Buffer Overflow in "NoScanout" Mode.

According to Nvidia, this buffer overflow, which occurred when an X client installed a large ARGB cursor on an X server running in NoScanout mode, could have caused a denial of service.

Almost all of the branches were affected by this problem; Stable, Beta, and Legacy. A complete list of supported video cards and other changes can be found in the official announcement. Download Nvidia Display Driver 310.44 for Linux 32-bit.
