Ahead of the Nvidia Game24 event organized in London, Softpedia had a chance to talk with Nvidia's Igor Stanek about gaming nowadays and where the large graphics card company predicts it will go.

While Stanek's position as head of Nvidia's Tegra and Shield Public Relations department may seem biased, he emphasizes that, while consoles like the new PS4 and Xbox One are experiencing some pretty big sales, the future will see gaming and gamers move away from such single-purpose devices to more multi-purpose ones. These include the PC, but mainly tablets, as most of the actual gaming will be done in the cloud and easily streamed towards any possible platform, whether it's a smartphone, tablet, PC, or even console.

Seeing as how Sony already has PlayStation Now, while Microsoft is rumored to also be working on a cloud gameplay streaming platform, Nvidia's stance makes a lot of sense.

Besides being able to provide components for tablets, the large company also has a great position when it comes to offering equipment for servers, which will actually do the gaming in the cloud.

As such, it welcomes the cloud transition, while still taking care of the hardcore PC players who want to have all the games running on their local desktop machine, via new products like the GTX 980 and 970.
