Nvidia has just announced the immediate availability for download of the 319.60 certified version of its graphics driver for Linux operating systems.

The new Linux display driver, 319.60, is actually an update for the Long Lived Branch, which means that it will probably get picked up in most of the repositories out there.

The main purpose of these drivers is to add support for the new GeForce GTX 760 Ti OEM, but a few other changes have been made as well.

According to the announcement, a bug that could cause OpenGL applications to crash during the initialization of new threads has been fixed, and another one that caused the X server to fail to start on certain laptops has been corrected.
