Nuance, the developer of the popular FlexT9 app for Android, has recently announced that its highly-acclaimed application is now available for download from Amazon Appstore. Customers who wish to take advantage of the app's features will have to pay $4.99.

The multimodal FlexT9 app turns the traditional Android keypad on smartphones and tablets into a unique four-in-one keyboard that lets users choose the way they wish to communicate, whether they speak, trace, write or tap.

While using FlexT9 one can either “speak” a web search with Dragon Dictation, trace an email with T9 Trace, handwrite a quick note with T9 Write or text a message with XT9.

The application aims to provide users with a faster and natural experience while using the virtual keypad on their Android smartphones, and lets them choose the way they wish to interact with their friends.

Nuance hopes to increase the application's popularity on the market by making it available to Android users among Amazon’s US customer base of more than 65 million people.

Android consumers have communicated loud and clear that they love the flexibility and power of choice offered by FlexT9, so we’re making it available on the Amazon App Store to deliver that powerful experience to even more Android users among Amazon’s huge customer base,” said Michael Thompson, senior vice president and general manager, Nuance Mobile.

And with FlexT9’s availability for the hottest Android phones and tablets in six languages, consumers can instantly customize their device to fit their personal mobile lifestyle.”

FlexT9 is currently available for English (US and UK), German, French, Italian and Spanish, and supports smartphones running Android OS 2.1 or newer, including Honeycomb devices.

And as a quick reminder, Amazon Appstore is currently available only for customers living in the States.

However, the rest of the world can download and install the application directly from Android Market, for the same price.
