Nuance Dragon Apps Reach Portugal’s iTunes App Store

Nuance Communications, Inc. has expanded its iOS Dragon offerings to Portugal taking its global expansion plans a step further, according to Michael Thompson, senior vice president and general manager of the company's Mobile division.

Now supporting the European Portuguese language, Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search are said to have experienced immense adoption and expansion around the world.

Downloads are flowing in the tens of millions, says Nuance, whose solutions allow people speak text for SMS messages, emails, social media updates, Web searches and other stuff that’s easier said than written.

Portuguese becomes the 20th language supported by Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search, in addition to nineteen others across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. They’re downloadable onto iOS devices in a of 22 countries so far.

Commenting on their new release, Michael Thompson, senior vice president and general manager, Nuance Mobile, said: “22 countries and 19 languages later, Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search continue their rapid global expansion with this latest launch in Portugal.”

“What is even more exciting is the Apps’ continued success in each and every region they are introduced, consistently hitting the #1 and #2 spots in free business apps in nearly every App Store,” added Thompson.

All languages supported by Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search are U.S, UK and Australian English, German, European and Canadian French, Italian, Americas and European Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Taiwan Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish, Russian and, most recently, European Portuguese.

International customers can get to the apps via these links below. They both require iOS 4.0 or later, but only Dragon Dictation is a universal app with separate interface versions for iPhone and for the iPad’s 9.7-inch screen.
