Microsoft started rolling out the fall Xbox 360 Dashboard update yesterday, November 1st, 2010, and just after it gave the refresh the green light for users worldwide, the company also confirmed the first issues with the release.

Softpedia readers that came across my article about the new features in the Xbox 360 Dashboard update, also complained of seeing a range of problems, from the refresh failing to complete, to losing content.

The Redmond company has confirmed officially that it is aware of the glitches impacting Xbox 360 users, noting that some problems are inherent to an update of this magnitude.

“There's a ton of new functionality in this update including Zune Music, ESPN, improved voice chat quality, enhanced Family Settings, and more,” a member of the Xbox LIVE Operations team explained.

“As with any significant update like this one, some issues are bound to pop up and we're working hard to resolve them.”

According to the software giant, a couple of issues have been reported the most by gamers.

“Problems downloading the new update or new/updated applications like Zune or Netflix. There are a couple of different error messages that you might get here, and they all mean essentially the same thing - "Please Try Again",” the Xbox LIVE Operations team member added.

“Being asked to pay for content you want to download that you've previously paid for. If this happens to you, simply decline and repeat the download process. This problem is intermittent, and typically on another attempt LIVE should recognize that you already own the content and allow you to re-download it for free.”

In addition, there is another glitch that needs to be resolved: “Yes, we aware of the Avatar Editor/Marketplace issue and are working on that as well.”

Microsoft is currently hard at work, focusing on resolving the issues reported by Xbox users. There are also a number of problems sent directly to the company.

The promise from the software giant is that they will be resolved as soon as possible, and that info will be provided to customers when that happens.
