Although the simplified version of Suse Linux 9.3 was presented by Novell during CeBIT, the optimized system for professional usage will be launched today.

According to the data provided by the company, SUSE LINUX Professional 9.3 offers advanced tools for experienced users, maintaining in the same time the simple installation procedure and the security settings for Linux beginners.

This is the latest Linux distribution and has a price tag of 99.95 USD for which you get the operating system, over 3,000 open source applications, among which many are desktop applications, documentations and installing support. The applications include OpenOffice, the star browser Firefox, instant messaging applications, image and photograph organizers, and programs for viewing video content.

You also get solutions for setting mobility and network parameters.

Advanced users will benefit from tools which ease the installation of a secure network, the running of a Web server, the development of applications and the creation of virtualized environments.

F-Spot photo organizer, GIMP 2.2 and InkScape cover the graphic and multimedia domains and you also get programs for burning CDs and DVDs.

The operating system operates on 32 bit, but also on the new 64 bit generation systems, and supports AMD Athlon 64 processors and Intel Extended Memory 64bit.
