Novatel Wireless MiFi 2372 arrives in Japan at NTT DOCOMO

Leading provider of wireless broadband access solutions Novatel Wireless, Inc. announced today that its MiFi 2372 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot has received type approval certification with Japan's wireless carrier NTT DOCOMO. According to the company, the device will become available for purchase via Inter Communications in Japan, with support for NTT DOCOMO network.

The MiFi 2372 comes to the market with the MiFi OS platform, offering expanded opportunities for the mobile broadband applications on the MiFi. Both users' experience and applications capabilities on devices should be enhanced, the company announced. The new MiFi 2372 comes with support for NTT DOCOMO's HSPA network, while being designed to offer Internet connectivity to a number of up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices.

“We're pleased to receive this certification with NTT DOCOMO and to be able to support a commercial MiFi 2372 market launch on the NTT DOMCOMO network through Inter Communications,” said Rob Hadley, chief marketing officer for Novatel Wireless. “The MiFi 2372 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot provides for a great complement to NTT DOCOMO's extensive mobile broadband offering and will help serve the sophisticated mobile consumers in Japan.”

The MiFi Mobile Intelligent Hotspot is an award winning device, being able to offer connectivity speeds of up to 7.2 megabits per second, while offering increased performance and support for simultaneous uploads/downloads and large file transfers. It can connect a number of up to 5 devices that are within a 30 feet radius of it. The MiFi 2372 features optimizations for streaming and online gaming, and also packs a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 16GB of additional storage space.
