Leading provider of wireless broadband access solutions Novatel Wireless, Inc. announced at the International 2010 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas that three of its innovative, patented MiFi(TM) Intelligent Mobile Hotspot models, namely 2200, 2352 and 2372, were available for purchase around the world via 15 global carriers in 16 countries.

The MiFi Intelligent Mobile Hotspot, which has been brought to the market back in May 2009, is meant to create a personal cloud of high-speed Internet connectivity that users can share between Wi-Fi capable devices, including smartphones, laptops, cameras, and more. The device features great portability options, as well as ease of use, not to mention that it allows for a number of up to five Wi-Fi products to be connected to the Internet at the same time anywhere as long as a cellular connection is available.

“The outstanding momentum we have created in the first two quarters of the MiFi's commercial availability is a strong beginning,” said Rob Hadley, CMO of Novatel Wireless. “The new operator wins we are seeing affirm that customers are deriving value from this unrivaled, industry first device and we expect to see continued momentum in 2010 as we evolve the MiFi platform to deliver a wide variety of mobile applications on the world's leading networks.”

The company's MiFi Intelligent Mobile Hotspot was launched by Vodafone in Germany, Spain, Romania, Portugal, the Netherlands, Qatar and New Zealand, the company announced, adding that Vodafone's affiliate MobileOne also delivered it to Singapore, while Polkomtel brought it to Poland, and Vodacom to South Africa.

The device is available via a series of other carrier around the world as well, including Sprint and Verizon Wireless in the United States, Bell Mobility and MTS Allstream in Canada, or Orange and Telefonica Moviles Espana in Spain. Not to mention that UK users can also purchase it via Carphone Warehouse for connectivity on T-Mobile and Vodafone's networks, and it is available through European distributor Mobilx and North American MVNOs Best Buy and Radio Shack.

The MiFi product line provides our customers with unprecedented connectivity and functionality wherever they go,” said Akos Gulyas, chief executive officer of Mobilx. “We are proud to offer Novatel products because they consistently deliver unique, high-quality solutions that ensure customer satisfaction and exceed expectations. MiFi has consistently been one of our best selling new products since its introduction.”
