Novatel Wireless and Verizon Wireless announced the commercial availability of the V740, the first ExpressCard to operate on Verizon's faster wireless broadband network, based on the EV-DO Revision A technology. The V740 offers high data speeds and connectivity, lower latency and reliable access to important information.

The V740 ExpressCard provides customers with access to Verizon Wireless' business data service, BroadbandAccess, which runs faster on Revision A technology. Customers in Revision A coverage areas can take advantage of upload speeds that are eight to nine times faster than that of Verizon Wireless' existing wireless broadband network, while interacting with Web-based applications with improved latency. BroadbandAccess customers in enhanced broadband wireless coverage areas using the V740 ExpressCard can expect average download speeds ranging from 600 kbps to 1.4 Mbps and average upload speeds of 500-800 kbps.

The V740 ExpressCard has a small and light form factor, designed for use in notebooks that support the ExpressCard 34 or 54 interface, as well as USB 2.0, and functions with Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Mac 10.4.8 or higher. Verizon's VZAccess Manager software installed on the computer allows for convenient navigation through the card's feature suite, in addition to allowing access to remote access connections and business applications. The V740 ExpressCard features a dual-color LED service status indicator for data throughput monitoring. The sophisticated dual-band diversity antenna system design incorporates a flip-up antenna, maximizing data speed performance and allowing for stronger network signal reception.

The V740 ExpressCard is available for $179.99 with a new two-year customer agreement or $229.99 with a new one-year customer agreement online and in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores.
