Notion Ink Adam, the highly appealing Android-based tablet PC that Notion Ink has been working on for quite some time now, is finally available for pre-order. Just as expected, the company announced officially the availability of the tablet, and also unveiled specific info on the pricing of this device. Some of the most interesting characteristics of this device include the fact that it comes in six different variants, complemented by a highly appealing user interface, and great applications.

“We have pushed the limits of current technology and raised the expectations from other devices as well, especially the fact that it’s not just hardware or software, but it’s both. Android on Adam is no longer a phone OS; it’s Eden, a new play ground for big touch screen devices,” the company notes.

In case there are some who might have not encountered the device before, we should note that there would be different versions of Adam brought into the wild, based on the display and connectivity options packed with it.

Thus, the list of available flavors includes: LCD (Wi-Fi only), LCD + 3G -900 series, LCD + 3G -850 series, Transflective (Wi-Fi only), Transflective + 3G -900 series, Transflective + 3G -850 series.

As one can expect, the pricing of the new device was set in accordance with these features. Thus, the cheaper version would set users back $375.33, namely the LCD Wi-Fi version.

Next on the list would be the LCD 3G versions, priced at $425.33 for a limited period of time, while the Transflective version (Pixel Qi) should cost around $499.45 for Wi-Fi only.

The Transflective + 3G -900 series and Transflective + 3G -850 series variants would go for $549.99.

According to the company, the Adam tablet should be able to offer to its users a nice range of features, beyond what the Android 2.2 Froyo OS includes. Moreover, it would also taste newer Android OS upgrades, as soon as Google makes them available. Gingerbread would be next on the list.

“The way we look at Eden, its closer to the Honeycomb than to the Gingerbread, and we were really happy to do those changes for you in time. So when you look at Adam in your hands you will not feel under-powered by a Mobile OS,” Notion Ink, Rohan Shravan states.

Those interested in the purchase of this device should head over to the company's website here to learn more about it. However, we should note that Notion Ink decided to put the device on pre-order only for the members of its community in the beginning.
